Pathfinders
(for 10-16 year olds)
Pathfinders is an action-packed program for 10 - 16 year olds,
which meets on Saturday afternoons or evenings. Our Pathfinder Club
is educational in areas of life-skills, hobbies, developing a firm
Christian foundation and just having good fun. Activities range from
such things as swimming, camping, arts and crafts, cooking, hiking
and community aid activities to devotional times and discussions on
Christian principles.
There are regular camps, which teach survival skills, teamwork
and an awareness of our natural heritage. Pathfinders is all about
involvement. If you are aged between 10 and 16 (or in grades 5 - 10 or
the equivalent) then you will not want to miss out on all the fun.
If you are older, inquire about becoming an instructor in various
activities or as a unit leader.
Pathfinders is a worldwide program organized and directed by the
Youth Ministries Department of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Pathfinders offers a wide range of learning experiences that are
designed to shape positive values and enable young people to reach
their full potential.
The course offers six levels, with one last level designed for
those who would like to be involved in Pathfinder leadership. Scores
of prepared special interest activities are also available where
pathfinders are able to focus on interest areas that appeal to them.
Philosophy of Pathfinders
- Help the Pathfinders to understand that God loves them, cares
for them and appreciates them.
- Encourage Pathfinders to discover their own God-given potential.
- Inspire Pathfinders to give personal expression of their love
for God.
- Make the number one priority of the club program the personal
salvation of every Pathfinder.
- Build into a Pathfinder’s life a healthy appreciation and love
for God’s creation.
- Teach Pathfinders specific skills and hobbies that will make
their lives more meaningful and will occupy their time with
profitable accomplishments.
- Encourage the Pathfinder to keep physically fit.
- Give opportunity to develop and enlist leadership.
- Seek to foster the harmonious development of the physical, social,
intellectual and spiritual life of the Pathfinder.
