Rick A. Jordan
Pastor Woodbridge Seventh-day Adventist
Rick A. Jordan was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. He was first introduced to Jesus as a teenager attending a youth camp in Alaska. During his senior year of high school he gave his life to Jesus and was baptized. He attended Walla Walla College (now Walla Walla University) and graduated with a B.A. in Theology in 1987. He received his Master of Divinity degree from the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University 1990. He pastored in Alaska and Washington before coming to Virginia.
Rick also worked for the Washington State Department of Corrections for nine years as the Community Involvement Manager at McNeil Island Corrections Center. He was the executive staff member responsible for community relations and overseeing the 700 plus volunteer program. While at McNeil Island, he helped develop and implement an innovative incarcerated fatherhood program that encouraged incarcerated fathers to be involved in their children's lives - the first of it's kind in the United States.
Rick has been the pastor at Woodbridge since 2003. He loves Jesus and loves talking about and leading people to Jesus. His favorite Bible text is Psalm 40:1-3, "I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of miry clay. And set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth - Praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord."
In addition to him being the pastor at Woodbridge, Rick is the Potomac Conference ministerial leader for Northern Virginia.
He is married to Beth and they have four adult children - Esther, Russell, Ricky and Tim.
