Virtual Sabbath Service

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,  And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Woodbridge SDA Church sabbath services have temporarily gone virtual.  Our live video stream has enabled us to move to an online worship service as a result of the current environment.  We pray you can join us virtually as Pastor Lola Johnston delivers a sermon online.

A Message from the Pastor
Good Morning Church Family,
I pray this message finds you well.
The past 24 hours have brought many developments with regard to COVID-19 or The “Corona” Virus. As you have heard, many School Systems, Universities and Organizations have deemed it unsafe to meet in large gatherings within the near future.
As such, Bishop Michael Curry, the presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church has notified all churches that all worship services will be cancelled in Episcopal Churches for the next two weeks. As you are aware, we worship at the St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church in Woodbridge so our services are directly impacted by this development.
It would be too cumbersome to try and find a venue for services this Sabbath. As such, we have set-up a virtual space where we can meet for worship on Sabbath Morning. You can find more information about this development on our website.
I am asking everyone to share the ACTUAL information with regard to this closure with as many members as possible.
  1. The facility we worship has been closed for the next two weeks because of concerns with COVID-19 or “The Corona Virus”.
  2. We will not meet for Sabbath Service or Prayer Meeting for the next two weeks as a result.
  3. We have created a virtual space where we can meet this Sabbath. For more information, you can go to our Church website.
This is an opportunity for us to gather in small groups in homes on Sabbaths and Wednesdays to enjoy worship and fellowship. If you are willing to host such a gathering, please inform me and your information will be provided to the congregation as an option.
Finally, I’d like to remind you of the safety measures you can take to protect yourself from COVID-19 or “The Corona Virus”.
  1. The present understanding of this virus is that it is droplet-bound. Coughing and sneezing in proximity of other people or on surfaces that people touch is the means by which it is passed.
  2. The virus is particularly troublesome for those who are seniors. Children have been found with the virus without challenge.
  3. People can be asymptomatic or not experiencing any symptoms and still have the virus.
  4. This makes it extremely important to practice cleanliness especially hand-washing and intentionality to effectively cover the mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing (ideally with the break of the arm). WASH YOUR HANDS…Thoroughly and often!
We will communicate with you further, as soon as we have developed a plan moving forward.
Please take care of yourselves and your families during this time. Be at peace. For, God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7.
