January 7th

Communion Service 

 
Joins us for an in-person Communion service..  Communion is one of our fundamental believes and even though we’re not in the presence of each other, we have chosen to still partake in it as we are always in the presence of God.  We will be utilizing individual packaged communion supplies for everyone’s safety.

Food Drive @ THE BRIDGE

Bless a Family for Thanksgiving

 
Donate specific non-perishable items to help to fill one or more Family Food Boxes and bless families this Thanksgiving! Donation dates are Nov 5th & Nov 12th.
Distribution will occur on November 19th to help individuals and families in our community who are in need enjoy a nourishing meal.  Click Here for details.

Vacation Bible School

 
It is time for Vacation Bible School (VBS)! The theme for VBS is “Jerusalem.”  Your child will be transported to a different time and a fresh experience—and walk with Jesus today! June 25th

Graduation Sabbath

 
Please join us at 12:00 noon on Sabbath for a celebration of all of our graduates. We will be recognizing all of our graduates from Pre-K and higher during our divine Sabbath service.

The Bridge Church Picnic

 
Join us for a family fun day of fellowship and activities for all ages as we continue to celebrate graduates and other educational milestones.  There will be a BBQ cook-off, food, games and lots of fun.  Click here for details and more info.

Church Business Meeting 

 
Join us on April 24th at 12 Noon for our Church Business Meeting.  Pastor Thornton will share various topics with our church family to include our building fund project.

April 23rd 

Women’s Day 2022 

 
Join us for Women’s Day on April 23rd.  There will be a special Women’s Sabbath School followed by a wonderful sermon.  Afterwards there will be an afternoon workshop.  We’re asking all women to wear pink.  We look forward to seeing you on Women’s Day.

Outdoor Movie Night at the Bridge

 
Join us for a social distancing evening of fun and fellowship under the stars. Listen from your car radio or bring your own blanket and lawn chairs. **Free nachos & pizza**. Concessions available for purchase- popcorn, candy, and drink. All proceeds will go towards our building fund – Operation Occupy

Men’s Ministry Study 

 
The Men’s Ministry invites you to join us every third Sabbath of the month starting February 19th at 3pm as we begin a new study from the book “Being God’s Man by Pursuing Friendships: Real Life. Powerful Truth. For God’s Men.”  We are asking for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to mold us individually and collectively into the men God wants us to become.

Youth & Parents Kickoff Breakfast 

 
Please join the WSDA Youth Ministry as we kick off our first Youth & Parents breakfast at IHOP at 13718 Smoketown Rd Woodbridge VA 22192. We will have a hot breakfast and discuss with our parents and youth the overall youth plan for the year 2022.  Our Theme this year is “Make room at the Bridge for our young people.” . Christmas at the Bridge

 
Please join us as we celebrate the Christmas season through word and song presented by our Children, Youth and Adults.  It begins with the Worship service at 12:00 noon followed by A.Y. Vespers at 3:30 pm and Smores and Movie Night at 4:45 pm.  COVID protocols will be followed.

Installation Service – Pastor George Thornton

 
This Sabbath, our new Pastor Dr. George & Lady Carolyn Thornton will be installed. The Joy of Eating – Health Ministry Event

 
Immediately after creating humankind, God showed them the abundance of delicious and nutritious food available to them. Virtual Women’s Day – My Sister’s Keeper

 
Please join for Women’s Day with guest speaker – Pastor Jeanne Mogusu from Kenya. Afterwards we will meet virtually to discuss women in the bible. Saving for retirement: How much should I save? What type of accounts should I have? Town Hall Meetings take place around the Potomac Conference each year. This is a time that conference administrators share important conference news with members as well as a time for members to bring questions and concerns to administration. Coping in the Midst of Crisis

 

Mental Health is significant to our physical, emotional, psychological, spiritual and social wellbeing. It informs how we think, feel, act and interact with each other. As individuals, we all cope differently with stress during crisis situations. Therefore, it is critical during this world wide pandemic to develop and practice healthy strategies to manage stress and reduce anxiety.

Heroes Vacation Bible School

 
Kids love heroes and this summer, instead of talking about superheroes from comics or movies, this new VBS will teach them about heroes from the bible, Miriam, Samuel and Rhoda were all kids who did little things that made a big difference. Your kids will love the fun and interactive learning experiences at Heroes Vacation Bible School.

Facing Adversity…..Keeping it 100.  After Adversity Comes Great Achievement.
Join us for at 11:00 am for Youth Day.  Pastor Ishmael Wade will bring deliver a sermon for both the youth and young at heart.  His personal mission statement is “to love Christ supremely, to serve humanity with humility and to live this life for eternity.”

Join us as Dr. Watkins presents information introducing us to the benefits of lifestyle change.Friday evening, Sabbath morning and Sabbath afternoon. Dr. Watkins, a Seventh day Adventist Patient Care Provider who specializes in alternative medicine,.  desires to see his patients adopt and maintain a lifestyle change that will provide physical, mental, and spiritual healing

Sabbath Evening, from 4:00 – 6:00, Pastor Lola Johnston will host the Woodbridge SDA town hall.  She will share our 2020 vision, our pathway to accomplish our mission, – Making Disciples of Jesus Christ, and other business matters relating to the church.  We look forward to you joining us.

Sermon:  The Hunger

 
Pastor Fredrick Russell will be visiting the Woodbridge SDA Church and share his sermon titled “The Hunger” at 11:30 a.m.  Pastor Fredrick founded the True North Leadership Group to foster responsible, character-driven leadership and help others understand its critical role in strengthening families, businesses and communities.  He has served as Pastor of the Berean Seventh Day Adventist Church in Atlanta, GA and as President of the Allegheny West Conference.

Seniors Appreciation Day

 
The Bridgekeepers (Seniors 55+) led out in a special tribute to God’s faithfulness. If you missed this special worship experience, you can watch the service here: https://www.woodbridgesda.org/worship/. The theme for the day was “This Far by Faith,” colors were orange, blue and silver. Lunch was served after the event.

Marriage Expectations

 
Calling all couples! There will be a workshop for couples facilitated by Ron and Deria Gadsen at 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary, followed by a get-together in the Fellowship Hall at 5:15 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. There will also be licensed, on-site, child care!
